The Pumpkin Project: Edible Decor

Pumpkin Spiced Cake

Create a BOo-tiful, edible centerpiece for your upcoming Halloween gathering that is sure to get some devilish grins. Create one for the table or a series of minis that guests can take home as party favors.

I have to admit, this is one of the cutest and cleverest ideas that I have seen in a long time. Simply bake mini bundt cakes and use two cakes per pumpkin. Seal together with creamy frosting and decorate each face differently.

Get Creative
Use different kinds of cake to create different looks. Use chocolate or spiced cake for darker pumpkins and dust with powdered sugar. Make a large batch of lemon or vanilla cake and separate out into three separate bowls. Add a couple drops of food coloring to create a realistic color scheme. Decorate the face with different candies or dried fruit. Use slivered almonds or chicklets for for teeth. Most importantly, have fun and your guests will too.
