Kimberlee’s Holiday Dress List and Her Rendition of Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby”

Santa Baby

Santa baby, slip some sequins under the tree, for me
I’ve been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, a curve kissing satin drape skirt too, and shoes
I’ll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I’ve missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven’t kissed
Next year I could be oh so good
If you’d check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo

Santa honey, a tunic top and really that’s
Not a lot
I’ve been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie, there’s one thing I really would like, the tights
With the leopard print spots

Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, I’m filling my stocking with a sexy black dress
That fits me like a glove
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and leave some love for me
That sparkles like diamonds bought at Tiffany’s
I really do believe in you
Let’s see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo

Santa baby, forgot to say I gotta look good, not great
Like a runway show
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Scouring the sea of red carpet worthy holiday attire that is flooding the fashion scene, I would like to share with you a few of my favorite gems for the 2010 Holiday season.  Remember that dressing for your body type is what ultimately makes the difference between looking good and looking great!

When shopping for a piece that fits your body type, try to create balance. If one half of your body is big and the other is small, accentuate the small and camouflage the big. You want the eye to be drawn opposite of what you are trying to hide. For additional information on tips for each body type, click here.

The Pear

Why these styles work: The cap sleeves and squared shoulders create balance. The dresses below are plain and not patterned on the bottom or pleated which can accentuate the lower half. Patterned tops and large collars are beneficial because they draw the eye up and V-necks create the illusion of length giving you a longer, taller look. Pair this with a medium to long length jacket and a short necklace.

Picks for this body type:

Eric Daman Fitted Black Dress from Charlotte Russe $39.50 (on right)

Layered Cap Sleeve Dress from Charlotte Russe $39.00 (on left)

Draped Neck Fitted Dress from Express $69.90

Tailored Skirt Dress from Charlotte Russe $39.00 *Please note that this selection will look more complimentary if it is paired with a collared jacket.

The Reversed Pear

Why these styles work: Here we are looking for dresses that are wider on the bottom and fitted on the top. The dresses here include A-line skirts or flair at the hem creating balance in the lower half. Show off your beautiful shoulders! If you are layering, cinch your shirts at the waist so that they flair around the hips. Low V-necks and U-necks are encouraged because they draw the eye down. Longer necklaces look best on you.

The Hour Glass

Why these styles work: This is one of my favorite body types to dress. Women with this type look great in wrap dresses and cinched waists and can benefit from a wide or skinny belt. Accentuate the waistline-this is your asset. Necklaces that are short to medium length look best on you.

Enchanting Lady Strapless Dress from Ruche $45.99 (on left)

Starbusrt Colorblock Halter from Arden B. on sale for $30.00!!

Tinley Road Silver One Shoulder Dress from Piperlime $69.00

Slinky Ruched Feather Dress from Charlotte Russe $54.50 (on right)

The Super Model

Why these styles work: This body type is rather rectaglular so the key is to create shape and curve. Avoid tight tops and dresses. Focus on short blazers, pleated skirts of all lengths, ruffled or elaborate tops and long lean pants. Create a waistline by adding a dark belt at the waist and accentuate your toned legs and shoulders.

Silk Rosette Halter Dress from Bebe $139.00 (on left)

Pointed Petal Dress from ModCloth $59.99

Enchanting Lady Strapless Dress from Ruche $45.99

The Apple

Why these styles work: Women with this body type should seek out flowing fabrics with empire waists to accentuate your cleavage and hide the wider midriff. You want to enlongate your torso and avoid straight cut blouses or dresses that are fitted in the waist. Pair with a single breasted coat and choose a length that will reach the top of your thighs. Long necklaces and scarves are a great choice for you.
