I’ve Got Great Jeans: Kimberlee’s Pick of the Week

I’ve got great jeans.

Some days, I’m smokin’ hot. Some days, I’m barefoot and comfortable. Most days, I’m rockin’ my denim collection with anything from a t-shirt and flats to a crazy beautiful feminine top and stiletto’s.

This fall, I’m beyond thrilled that ankles are getting a little breathing room, elated that color is bursting forward, and out of my mind with bliss over the 70’s throw back flares. Allow me to share…

My favorite pair of “skinny” jeans at the moment is a deep dark indigo tint from Anlo, with a hybrid skinny/straight leg opening giving me the hip hugging style without suffocating my ankles giving just a touch of volume to balance my upper body.  The mid-rise waist seals and smoothes out my curves at the hip and completely eliminates the unflattering little muffin top feature that a low-rise can sometimes cause in a snug skinny jean…awkward!

• Mid-Rise
• Dark Wash
• Straight, or wide skinny leg opening

I crush on a great flare leg.  I channel a little of Janis Joplin’s soul when I wear them.  These from the Gap are really fantastic with the high rise waist that fits snug without being overly constricting (i.e. panty lines), the lightweight darker denim rinse is comfortable and casual enough to carry the larger than life flare leg without feeling like you’re wearing steel boots.  Perfect with a stacked heel or wedge…and a little fringe.  Peace.

• High- Rise
• Darker Rinse
• Lightweight Denim

COLOR!!! I love color. Especially on denim. These particular little gems I discovered at Delia’s while on clearance, and cannot think of a better use of my $10. I definitely prefer my colored denim on a skinny jean, it just seems to suit the style in a really modern way. The fit should be body conscious, but should NOT look like a pair of tights. Slightly relaxed ankle, a little bit of stretch to the fabric and voila…a perfect little rainbow.

• Skinny to straight fit
• Stretchy fabric
• Body conscious, not constricting

Be creative, find a fit that feels amazing to you and really make them your own. Work it girl, you’ve got great jeans too!

Xoxo Kimberlee
