Red lipstick is always a classic look and very reminiscent of old Hollywood when Hollywood was glamorous and classy. Wearing red lipstick like the pros is tricky and intimidates most women from wearing it. Here are some tips to pull off a bold red lip successfully.
1) Find the correct color red for your skin color.
This is usually where people go wrong. Choosing the wrong makeup colors, no matter what type-blush, foundation, lipstick etc., can make you look tired and make that one little pimple stand out more than before. When choosing a red lipstick shade consider the undertones. Does it have warm undertones that have an orange base or a cool undertones with a blue base. Here are two examples of warm vs. red tones:

2) Line lips before applying lipstick.
I found this nifty little pencil when I was visiting Sephora over the holiday. It’s virtually clear and keeps your lipstick from bleeding.
3) Fill in lips with liner that is a similar color.
As your lipstick wears throughout the night (champagne glasses, cheek kisses, talking and of course smiling) your liner is your back up color until you can reapply.
4) Make it last longer- Apply gloss only in the center of your lower lip.
Applying lip gloss all over after putting on your lipstick will make it come off faster when you sip, smile and kiss. Applying gloss only to the center of the lower lip will give you the shiny look without compromising your color.
