Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) is one week away and I couldn’t be more excited!! Last year, I was a co-host of SFFAMA’S Fashion Racked party at 5 Claude Lane where I met two very promising and successful Bay Area designers, Daniel Sudar and Yuliana Candra of BlacMéra who have since presented to the Kieretsu Forum “Ahead of the Fashion” panel. This is the first year that I won’t be hosting and will just be attending!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with FNO, it is basically one big global party that revolves around fashion. Editors, designers, models and spectators gather over food, music and live entertainment to celebrate the upcoming fashion trends. Last year, this global initiative was celebrated in over 18 countries and hosted over 4,500 events here in the United States. A collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York, “Fashion’s Night Out was created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy during the recession, and put the fun back in shopping!” Each year, a new FNO collection of tee-shirt and bags is released and forty percent of proceeds raised from sales go to the New York City AIDS Fund in the New York Community Trust.
